MechFaber is a machine-design engine for AI agents: real CAD, real physics, real parts — with every rating cited and every claim gated.
Why we built it
Text-to-CAD produces geometry. Machines need truth. A language model will type a torque rating from memory, and the wrong number looks exactly like the right one — until the shoulder joint stalls, the bolt circle doesn't exist, or the pack browns out on its first coordinated move.
We built MechFaber on a simple constraint: nothing enters the design without a citation. Every rating carries the sentence it was read from. Every claim passes an exact geometric or physical check, or the failure is named — the joint, the angle, the millimetres.
How the engine works
Six stations, no step skipped. Parts are sourced across catalogues and measured out of their own datasheets, so every value re-parses from the page's text. The agent then draws real parametric CAD against vendor STEP files, and the machine is gated on interference, joint travel, fasteners, beam stress and static hold. It is simulated in physics with the pack and the wiring loom coupled per control tick, and finally your firmware is run on an emulated MCU against the machine it will drive.
The library compounds: every part any user measures becomes a cited record every future design starts from.
Model-agnostic by architecture
MechFaber is MCP-native. It works with Cursor, Crush, Claude Code, or any agent that speaks the protocol. The gates hold whichever model does the designing — that is the point of putting them in the engine rather than the prompt.
